Amnesty bill timed to Belarus' liberation anniversary passed on 28 June
The amnesty bill timed to the 75th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from Nazi invaders passed two readings at the House of Representatives on 28 June, BelTA has learned.
The bill was developed upon the instruction of the Belarusian president. "Belarus has always adhered to the principle of humanism to people serving time in prison. The state does not only punish, but also offers good time credit to inmates," Internal Affairs Minister Yuri Karayev said presenting the document.
