The state programme on prevention of suicides for 2008-2012 has been introduced before Belarus’ Government, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Kosinets told reporters on February 22. According to him, the government “does not support some provisions of the programme as they have a declarative character”. So, the government has charged to finalize the programme within near ten days. The document provides a range of the measures which are to be carried out by all Belarus’ ministries and governmental departments concerned to reduce the number of suicides. According to the Vice Premier, recently the number of suicides in the country has reduced.
