The financial corporation Sistema intends to implement several investment projects in Belarus. The issue was discussed during a meeting between President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and chairman of the Sistema board of directors Vladimir Evtushenkov on October 29. The President stressed that Belarus was interested in using financial, sci-tech and production opportunities of the corporation. Sistema is one of Russia’s leading holding companies which manages and administers assets in more than 11 business spheres. It is noteworthy that the company’s assets have been constantly growing. The President noted that Belarus needed investments to upgrade its manufactures and to develop the social infrastructure. He also said that the Belarusian party was ready to offer Sistema navigation services, cooperation with the State Military and Industrial Complex, Ministry of Sports and Tourism in reconstructing the international transport corridor from Bobruisk to Gomel and in developing diagnostic centers. In turn, the chairman of the Sistema board of directors stated that the corporation was willing to cooperate with Belarus. “We have never felt any pressure, infringement of interests,” Vladimir Evtushenkov said. The president noted that problems in interactions with Russia should not affect cooperation with the corporation.
