In January-March 2008, the investment in fixed capital and construction in Belarus increased by 20% up to Br5,763 trillion from the same period of 2007, BelTA learnt from the Ministry of Statistics and Analysis. The amount of building and assembly jobs was equal to more than Br2,56 trillion which in comparable prices is up 21.2% from January-March 2007. Occupancy permit was given to 1,227 million of square meters of housing built on the basis of different sources of finance. It is 9.5% up from the same period of 2007. This includes 528 thousand square meters of housing built in rural areas and small towns (up 7.1% from 2007).
