A delegation of Belarus headed by permanent representative to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva Sergei Aleinik will take part in the 54th session of the Trade and Development Board of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva on October 1-11, BelTA has learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. The Belarusian delegation will present its position on key items of the agenda and focus the attention of the international community on the necessity to continue providing help to the countries with the economy in transition for their successful integration to the world economy. The UNCTAD Board session will include discussion on the topic “Globalization and Universal Development” that will contribute to the preparatory process of the 12th UNCTAD Ministerial Conference (April 20-25, 2008, Ghana). The agenda also includes issues on regional cooperation in order to develop economic processes in Africa and implement the programme of actions for less developed countries for 2001-2010, multilateral trade talks on Doha of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the UNCTAD activity in technical cooperation.
