In 2008, Belarus will abolish quotas on import of alcoholic beverages, 1st Deputy Trade Minister Mikhail Sventitsky told reporters at the exhibition Belproduct 2007 in Minsk. According to him, the ministry prepared the draft document which abolishes the quotas for alcoholic beverages. In line with the document, the state will have an exclusive power to import alcoholic beverages in 2008. Operators to purchase alcoholic beverages will be determined on competition basis, Mikhail Sventsitsky noted.
