Belarus is ready for negotiations with the European Union about Schengen visa fees for Belarusian nationals, head of the consular department of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus Andrei Giro told reporters. In his words, the Belarusian party expressed readiness to start negotiations about simplifying the visa regime with the EU countries back in 2004. “We made our offers clear and now we wait for a constructive decision from the EU,” Andrei Giro said. He stressed that the Belarusian party reserves the right to take appropriate measures if the visas to the neighboring countries which plan to implement the Schengen Agreement on January 1, 2008 will go up to ?60.
