People of labour are the main wealth of the country, Chairman of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Andreichenko said at an official ceremony of inscribing the winners of the 2007 labour competition on the Board of Honour. The modern-day requirements are conscientious work, initiative and creative approach to labour. It is these qualities that differentiate the best regions and companies from others, he noted. Nineteen winners were entered on the Board of Honour. Among them are the town of Polotsk, the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk and the Lepel region, the Glubokoye meat-processing plant, San-Marko Ltd., Vitebskoblgaz, the Verkhnedvinsk regional central hospital, the oblast Lenin Library, gymnasium #1 of Polotsk, and Vitebsk State University of Engineering and Technology. The representatives of all winning companies and organisations will participate in the public cultural action “We are Belarusians”, which starts in the Vitebsk oblast on May 1. The action will be opened by performances of the Irina Dorofeyeva song theatre.
