Best mothers from all regions of the Vitebsk oblast have gathered in Vitebsk on October 12 for an official ceremony of presenting the prize of Hero of the Soviet Union Zinaida Tusnolobova-Marchenko. This year’s prize winners are twenty-seven women, BelTA has been told in the labour, employment and social security department of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee. The mothers have been invited to attend the honouring ceremony together with their husbands and children. The event is organized by the labour, employment and social security committee and the oblast council of women. The official reception in the oblast executive committee, a children’s performance, and a dinner – this is today’s routine of the best mothers of the Vitebsk oblast. The oblast prize of Hero of the Soviet Union Zinaida Tusnolobova-Marchenko was instituted in 1988. Since then it has been awarded to more than 200 mothers. This year the Vitebsk oblast executive committee has boosted the prize money up to the amount equal to three subsistence wages.
