The Polotsk State University developed a new additive to improve specifications of concrete mixtures. As BelTA learnt from the research department of the university, a super plasticizing agent for concrete mixtures SPAS improves technological and construction-technical specifications of concrete mixtures used for monolithic construction and the production of structural precast concrete and concrete goods. The additive lets manufacture construction materials of the increased cold resisting property, waterproofing and durability characteristics. At the same time the concrete consumption is falls by 17-23%. The cost of the new super plasticizing agent is 2,5 times lower than that of the foreign analogues. The university also manufactures porous building tiles. This is a new construction material that may be used for the construction of exterior and interior walls of buildings. The use of porous building tiles helps refuse from the additional heat-insulation of exterior walls and respectively to cut construction costs. The Polotsk State University develops reinforcing and restoration technologies for the mechanical engineering branch, new metalworking methods, computer technology software, carries out research in the environmental protection field and processes geodetic data.
